Question — we've gotten the Premier package on a couple cruises and have since decided to go with the Plus package on our next cruise. However, it seems to me that for this ship the Premier package may be better again because there are SO MANY specialty dining restaurants! What are your thoughts on all those specialty dining restaurants?
Allyson, are the cabin doors magnetic for decorations?
I agree with your usual cabin choice. Door. Then Bathroom. Then Bed (close to Bathroom) then Sofa (Close to Balcony). When we sit on the sofa enjoying wine or cocktails, we want to be next to the water. When the Sofa is closest to the Door, we tend to never use it as all you can see is a wall in front of you.

In August we embarked on our cruise in Southhampton. We are Elite but chose to get our medallions at the port since we were coming from the USA. At the port when we got in the Blue Lane. While in the Blue Lane Elite passengers were told to go to the Green Lane and our medallions would be there. I am wondering as an Elite passenger if this is true at all ports.
Hello and thank you for the valuable information on the Star Princess. We have an Alaskan cruise on the Star in August 2026. My question is regarding the the whole can soda vs fountain issue. It sounds like that Princess has changed to now allow cans as part of the Premier package? Is this true? Also, can you clarify if they are offering Coke Zero Sugar anywhere on the ship? If not, are you allowed to bring on board? Appreciate any info you can provide.

Hello, congratulations on the maiden voyage! We are booked in December! I was curious about changes to the rooms, like the amount of outlets etc. looking forward to room details when you make your room tour. Thank you!
I agree with you. I also prefer the bed to be closer to the hallway door rather than the balcony door. When I was booking my Star Princess cruise for December, I discovered a way to verify that the room was configured that way, as they have balcony cabins in both configurations. When you look at the deck plan, the rooms that are wider in the middle of the room have the bed closer to the hallway. If the room is widest at the balcony side then the bed is near the balcony. I hope that helps anyone trying to make sure to get the room type that they prefer rather than leaving it to chance.

Thank you very much for this video and info about App problems that you discussed. We are booked on the transatlantic cruise on October 22 from Barcelona. As soon as I saw your video last night, I went into our specialty dining reservations on the Princess App I found out that on all of our reservations there was a strange picture next to my picture. It was a picture of a person I do not know instead of my husband's picture. I called the Princess dining line and they fixed the problem. Strangely this person's name was on my reservation instead of my husband's. I am not sure how it happened but I am very happy the problem was resolved quickly. Thank you very much again of allerting us about a potential problem with application. 🙏

Hi. We are also on Star right now. I agree the ship is beautiful and the bedding is amazing! I have noticed some big changes , which I've discussed with the team onboard, and I'd like your thoughts on please :
(1) The International Cafe closes at midnight each night. This will be the standard operating time for all future Star sailings. This isn't just because it's the inaugural sailing. The princess website states this venue will operate 24/7 but it is not, and will not. This isn't t good for us night owls after we finish at the casino.
(2) The range of both drinks and food available in the app is massively reduced compared with other ships in the fleet. Massively reduced. Especially after midnight. Again, I'm being told by staff onboard that this will be the norm for all future sailings.
I do wish to add that the food and drinks are delicious. Can't fault any food or drinks. Can't also fault the staff, who have also been amazing.
So glad to see this. Been watching all the content since we are going on our first Princess cruise on 11.04 for Star’s inaugural Caribbean cruise. And we booked 2 others already (another on Star and one on Majestic).
Curious to see what deck 19 sports court looks like in comparison to Sun. We are thinking of booking a last minute cruise for New years on either Sun or Star (or maybe Sun). It would be our first Princess cruise.

We cannot see our excursions on the app either, but I brought our printed travel summary, so I was certain we received all our tickets. Then of course Storm Amy mixed everything up, but Princess has done a wonderful job providing alternatives with our new itinerary.
On the Regal the dining manager invited everyone to come see him and his staff about their reservations. They must know about the glitches. We also had the restaurant manager stop by every table to assure we were happy with our reservations and offered to make changes, if needed.
Hi Alison, I am on the star right now, and I must say I’m not very impressed! The sail away was very disappointing for an inaugural cruise, very boring tbh . The sun sail away is way better with better performance and show.
With regards to entertainment I am finding this boring too.
I’m more of an energetic person and playing Ballarda in the piazza doesn’t cut it for me. I can see a few people felt the same as quite a few got up and left.
I was expecting more for a new ship but I am disappointed! I will stick to the more lively sun, as we are not old and ready for pipe and slippers. Some of us love to dance and enjoy oursellfs! It’s a BIG No from me!!!😞😞😞

Allison, how many room attendance are working per room on Star? On our previous cruise we had two working our room. We wanted to be prepared because I normally take some goodies to our room stewards. Have a wonderful wonderful trip and so looking forward to more of your videos.

Hi Allison love to know is Star any better than Sun which lacked the quiet spots the other Princess ships have that you can go to for a drink and also had very loud music everywhere particularly when in the atrium it just ruined the experience of places like Bellinis and Crooners and is it true there now even playing music up in the Sanctuary.
Did you happen to notice on embarkation if suite guest had a separate check in or line?

The traditional inaugural sailing ! Pack your patience you are the one of the first to sleep in that bed . I like the bed by the door. We like to,leave our cabin door open to hear the ocean.
