You said you can’t wear the band through security? What about the infinity scarf with a hidden pocket? Can you put either in the bin and then just put them on later? I have never flown internationally before.

It always baffles me when I see women with overfilled large open tote bags. Just looking at them stresses me!
I discovered scrubs. A scrubs top has lots of big pockets. I got one in black, so it's original purpose is not conspicuous. It's great, because I wear a wallet on a strap, so if the agents see it and insist that it's a "bag," I can just remove the strap and stuff it in one of the pockets. But I also wear a light cardigan in the summer or a jacket in the winter, so my wallet is hidden. 😆
I always travel with sweatpants for free circulation. Again, I choose them in black with pant-style bottom, so they look dressier.
Finally, I wear clogs, they're comfy and easy to slip off at security.

I always take cotton scarf/wrap, keeps me warm or roll it up for a pillow or use a lightweight blanket 👍
