My tips: 1) Book an aisle seat over the wings of the airplane. It is calmer during turbulence, than it is in the back of the plane. 2) When turbulence occurs visualize the plane being surrounded by yello 3) Talk to your neighbor as a distraction 4) Share your feelings with a flight attendant before take-off. 5) Inhaling an essential-oil like lavender or any scent that gives you comfort 6) Prepare your own music, podcast, meditation playlist and use noise canceling headphones 7) Consider taking medication 8) Give yourself grace and allow yourself to be emotional ❤

I' leaving Wednesday night for almost a month in Europe. If you are still taking prayer requests, I'd love a prayer for comfort. I'm a nervous flyer and my entire family (husband, daughter and mother in law) will be on board together. Thank you.

I am 52 yrs old and haven't flown since I was 20. I stopped flying because I was on a really turbulent flight and was so scared I said I would never fly again. I want to fly now because I live in GA and I want to go to Alaska and go on a cruise. I'm in therapy and praying one day I can get in an airplane again.

Thank you! I take meds with me to fly. They may help me sleep going to London in Aug. I had an anxiety attack on a plane where I was in the aisle on the floor. Turbulence is when I start praying "make it smooth..make it smooth" 😊

    Hi Laurie
I haven’t flown overseas since 1985 when I was coming back to the states from the Army in Germany. I looked for travel channels and found you. I have gotten so many great tips from you and purchased a lot of your suggestions. I’m leaving next week Monday the 28th and am very nervous about flying. I was 26 when I last flew and not as carefree as I once was. My doctor did prescribe me medication but I am nervous to take it not knowing how It will make me feel. I’m traveling with my son, mom and a nephew so I wont be alone. I would appreciate prayers. I will let the flight attendant know that I’m also claustrophobic. I have to make this trip to Berlin as my cousin is very sick. Thank you for your tips and for your traveling wisdom. I feel a bit less anxious knowing I’ve gotten traveling knowledge from you.

I like to listen to music and do word search puzzles as we start the descent to help take my mind off any possible turbulence we may encounter. Keeping my brain occupied with the word search really helps keep my mind calm.

That’s kind of you to offer prayers Laurie. I’m getting a tad anxious about my upcoming trip, so a prayer is welcomed! I think it stems from grouchy abusive almost TSA at our airport. (SLC). Pray I have a less mean one and that I have a safe flight! Thank you for your great tips!

Something that happened to me : if you have a cat and lose/dusty type cat litter , after you leave home wipe down everything – luggage , bag , clothes and your hands after that . On my last trip it seems like i somehow had some dust from it on me and it made the scanner go of , after the second passing the agent was confused as me , she called me to her and checked my hands , then just smiled and said i can go , yup the CAT LITTER dust made the scanner go of.

Thank you for your common sense information. As a nurse, I can give a tip to calm yourself down — Think about the center of your chest going up and down as you slowly breathe in and out. Or play a counting game — How many red things can you see? Blue? Green? Anything to distract yourself.
I would say that I am mildly, normally concerned about airplane sounds and motions. I hadn't flown for 10 years, but last year, I went to Ireland and did fine.

Prayer request. I accepted a promotion at work that will have me traveling every other month. I couldn’t tell you the last time I was on a plane, but I’m 3 weeks away from my first trip and your videos are helping me greatly. I got very anxious today at the thought of flying and being away from my two young children and husband but I know this job is an opportunity for me to better provide for my family. All prayers, well wishes, and travel tips welcome. Thank you for content!

Hello Laurie😊 I really appreciate your prayer requests. I'm a nervous flyer. Our son is autistic and my husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's last year. I'm the in charge person for my family. Can you say a quick prayer for us? I'm especially nervous with all the things that have happened recently. I always say a prayer for my pilots, flight crew, and fellow passengers for a safe, smooth flight. Thank you and blessings to you 🥰🫶🙏

I'm getting ready to go on my first flight. Can I take my empty personal water bottle that's 46 Oz then fill it after going thru security. I really hope I'm not going to be nervous we'll see. Thank you so much for all your helpful tips. Is it a good idea to take packaged cookies for the stewardesses?

I sometimes get a little nervous going through airport security (or the cruise ship's security) before boarding but if I feel I might need it that day, I'll take a very low dose (0.25mg) Xanax my Dr prescribed about an hour and a half before I'm to board, and it calms me. It's funny (strange) that once I'm through security, I relax and have a great time. When the plane takes off doesn't bother me at all, and turbulence hasn't bothered me in the past, but getting through security, I worry that I'll cause others a delay, or that I might forget some important document (like the boarding pass, for example). I hope everyone who feels similar, finds something that works for them.
