I think that many people bring heavy laptops and large tablets when they don't really need them on a reasonably short vacation trip. Of course some people do need a full computer, but not everyone. I have been dictating into the apps on my phone, and correcting spelling etc. at a desktop later on. The significant weight reduction is a game changer.

Hey there. I have listened to many of your travel tips and learned so much I do not have much air travel experience so this has been so informative and stress-relieving. You are a great presenter and I have appreciated the information.

I put it in my carry on….😏

Another of airlines now won't allow anything to attach to windows or seats like your cup holder. I bought a foot hammock and they are not allowed!

This is great. Flying at the end of the month and we don't want to pay for checking bags (if they have to check for space is fine). Also this gives us practice for when we go to Asia. I'm confident that we can pack 8 days in carry on and personal item for a beach vacation. Thank you for sharing your system ❤

Flying in and outt of LaGuardia from Toronto, NUMEROUS announcements were made that your "purse" must be inside your carry-on luggagee orr personal iteem. If not, yourr carry-on would be checked & there was no deviation for anyone from this policy. BEWARE!!!

You mentioned to let you know how we pack our airpods. I was just introduced to the best earbuds I've ever had, and they are a little nontraditional. They are on a ball when they are charging, and when I take them off, they loop over my ears. The ball itself comes with a carry cord, and I just wear it around my neck on the plane, so if I want to take them out, I don't have to dig under the seat for my bag and find the case, and so I don't keep it out and lose it or leave it in my seat.

Laurie – have you had any experience at all recently with Aer Lingus? Viking booked us on Aer Lingus from Dublin to Geneva for last leg of outbound flight for a river cruise. AL's personal bag max is only 13 x 10 x 8 and carry-on is 21.5 x 15.5 x 9.5! We just bought two Foldies. In your experience, are the airlines at all flexible if the bag is soft, like the Foldie?

Laurie, that is excellent information. Thanks. I'm curious about how you approach prescription medication (if applicable).
I recently flew home to Australia, and given the extreme biosecurity laws, I was extra careful with my medication. I always keep it in my carry-on, and it is easier now with 90-day fills to need fewer original prescription bottles. I also took an ID photo of each tablet/capsule with the bottle prescription label.
I do keep a daily pill organizer separate for the flight, but I could always ID the medication if a customs officer asked me to.
This works pretty well for me. Do you have any other tips or thoughts?
This was the first of your videos that I watched, and it was very informative and entertaining.
    Happy travels!

Neck pillows can make a good chin lifter for those who suffer from sleep apnea. Just have to pick a style that works for you.

do not wear your crossbody bag or fanny pack under your clothes before going through TSA. They'll find it, ask you about hiding stuff and give you the smuggler treatment.

I was watching one of your videos, and you mentioned the packable thin bubble coat that had the straps. I couldn't find it. Could you link it for me please. I love your tips. Our trip is this Dec. To Greece and Italy so I think I will need a light coat. Appreciate you! 😊

Perhaps a suggestion for the two elastic straps on the back of your wash bag could be for a first aid kit/bag.
We are an older couple and really hate heavy bags now so we have reduced our belongings quite considerably. It works! 15kg & 18kg last time going in the hold.
    Mostly flying to Barbados.
The carrier bag suggestion for dirty clothes is a good idea. I put a cotton washable bag on the aircraft floor 😩to protect my backpack before putting it under the seat in front.
    Thank you Laurie.
    You make me laugh! Geraldine

I was a flight attendant my tip is to never use the seat back pocket. I’ve seen trash and dirty diapers stuffed in them. Also wipe your tray tables I’ve caught people changing babies diapers on them. People can be disgusting.

FYI Amazon has an identical back pack bag as your OUT OF STOCK Walmart Loveloc 17” for $32. Under the brand EMPSIGN. I got mine on on limited sale for $18. Loving it.
The mouth opens wide as your striped one does for vertical stacking off cubes.
Extremely light weight and comfortable for this 84 year old to wear to Greece.
Thank you for all your considerable suggestions. Weight is a constant problem for my age.
And those tiny zip locks for my supplements are fantastic and easy to deal with.

One essential that I CANNOT fly without. I am short with short legs. I purchased a sling that straps over the tray table that I can rest my feet on. Otherwise my feet actually do not fully reach the floor and this tugs on my knees and after even a 2 hour flight my knees and legs just hurt. Using the sling eliminates this.

Great tips. I'm about to head off overseas to a Mad Max themed event. I would be carry on only but for all the parts of my themed outfit, and my very minimalistic camping setup, which means I have to check a bag. And buy supplies before I drive to the event.

Just purchased the Lovelook, black/white, (not striped) backpack that was advertised on the Canadian Amazon website for an upcoming trip. Although the lining is striped. Wonderful numerous pockets. Paid almost twice the price, exchange and all that. Well worth it, I love the backpack. Love your fantastic info on your videos Laurie, many thanks!

I was once asked if I wanted to check my carry on bag while in a party with less savvy travellers (who were also asked). I firmly said “No thank you”. And gave the rest of the party a hard stare. We had a tight connection.

I carry a clean trash bag to put hand carry bag in when I place my bag under the seat in front of me. Keeps my bag clean, and I can recycle the bag later for dirty laundry.
