As always, there is an overemphasis on Southern Germany. As a person from the North of the country, my culture, my Northern identity, my cuisine (fish dishes, game, venison) is completely neglected. When will people understand that Bavaria is just one out of 16 states, and due to the fact that they do everything differently than the rest of the country on purpose, it is the least state to represent the entire country! Also, Neuschwanstein isn't the number one tourist attraction. It's not even old! It was built in the 1860s-1880s that's modern times! Americans should realize that it's a tourist trap, not worth visiting at all. If you want to experience a REAL authentic castle which is beautiful and still partly inhabited by the count and his family, then go and see Burg Eltz. It's construction began in 1157 – that is what I call history. The exhibition is mind-blowing and a lot of fun for children, too.

I did a thumbnail search on that beautiful cobblestone town for this video. This picture is in use for some town in just about every country in Europe. They had it in England, Czech, France…I wouldn't be surprised if Compton use it in its travel promotions.
Of course you can't serve everything – but for those who want to dive deeper into beautiful sceneries, look up the Black Forest and Baden Baden, Mosel (goes oof Rhine) Valley.
