My Dad was a salesman and travelled often and he taught me to always choose the isle. My husband prefers the window so it works. The last couple flights, I noticed how tiny the under the seat area is and when we flew to England last year I barely fit my bag under the seat. I think my husband put it in his under seat area but then I had to bug him for my stuff. I actually bought some smaller “personal bags” I initially bought a nylon bag but it seemed HUGE and really floppy so I found a rolling bag that’s narrower than my carryon. I started watching the travel you tube channels and you are one of my two favorites. Thanks for all your tips and hacks

From experience, the Isle seat and window passengers usually use both arm rests on the middle seat which is extremely uncomfortable. I tend to sit in the Aisle seat for this reason and getting up constantly but it is true that you get bumped a lot.

With all these airplane accidents lately, most survivors are from very last seats. So do not be discouraged if you get those seats. 😊

SeatGuru stopped updating its website in 2020. A replacement option is AeroLopa.

Also, I had the foot rest on Delta when flying Premium Select. It’s so worth it for longer flights! Seats are wider, more leg room, & upgraded amenities & snacks/food.

The hammock/net footrest is my favourite! I'm on the short side and it gives me a place to rest my feet.

For seats, I have to record the baggage handlers dealing with my wheelchair for legal reasons, so I have to be in the window seat that's as close to the cargo door (or front cargo door, if the plane has more than one) as I can get (or affords the best view of the cargo ramp, if the door isn't directly under any seats in the cabin) – for United CRJ200s (50-seater) that means 12A (I've tried 13A, but I couldn't really see the cargo ramp from that angle because of the window placement; once or twice I've had to do 6A, which usually costs more because it's a "preferred seat"), and for the bigger United planes (3-3 config), it means the window seat on the right side as close to the row immediately behind bulkhead as I can get (for most planes, that means as close to 8F as possible – I tried 7F one time, just to see if bulkhead would work for me, but the seat pitch was so big that, even with my feet stuck straight out in front of me, my feet still didn't reach the wall – I had to hang my heels on the pocket (I don't know if the underseat space in front of me was the reason for the really long pitch or not – if it was, then I might be able to make bulkhead work on planes that don't have the underseat space in that row, since bulkhead on little Denver Air planes has the perfect pitch for me to do that)); because my joints can partially dislocate when getting into and out of 3-3 regular economy rows, and since I usually get up at least a couple times on those longer flights to use the restroom, I have to have the legroom of an economy plus seat. But I put in a seating accommodation request to avoid having to pay extra for either "upgrade".

Some planes (I wish I could look it up, but I think it has been too long for the info to still be available – it was the 3-3 configuration, with the economy bulkhead row being row 7) have underseat space even in bulkhead, so on those there's still room for your personal item without having to put it in the overhead – my United flight from DEN to MSP back in July was like that: all the extra floor space, plus I still could put my backpack under the seat in front of me. I have notes from 2022 that say that the bulkhead on United 737-800s have the underseat storage, but I don't remember whether that was what that plane in July was or not (that particular info is no longer available to me, and even if it was, it might not even be accurate, since they might have had to change the plane last minute to one of a different type for that flight).

I do not recline as a favor to the person sitting behind me but many times the person in front of me have reclined significantly making my experience extremely uncomfortable. What I did in those instances is kneed the seat in front of me sending a message. Travelers need to take into consideration the person behind them which most do not!

Hi like your videos 🩷And respect you as a content creator…HOWEVER I have to disagree on the Exit seat while, I feel the Exit seat is BEST, here’s why……GOD FORBID if a major incident happens and you need to get out that plane FAST💨💨💨🏃🏼‍➡️to save your life you will obviously be the first one off the plane by pushing the exit door open I think it’s the best idea especially for someone who panics ALOT🙄‼️ while I’m NOT a Hypocrite I’ve never had an exit seat I’ve considered it a few times I just haven’t yet opted to have my seat at the exit door, maybe one day I’ll book an exit , Hey I’m only trying to save others 🤷🏼‍♀️🩷🩷🩷

Had the very back row on a Delta flight recently (rebooked because of time) and it was the most uncomfortable seat/row I have ever been in. Saved money and got home quicker but what I suffered in back and leg pain due to cramped seating was totally not worth it.

Great tips ! Bulkhead was my choice when I traveled with my children (easy access for them ) and when I traveled non stop to Paris with my best friend we got the last seat to be near restroom & attendants ( my friend had a minor surgery before the trip & this was perfect for us ) But now I get window for me & middle for the husband (he finally figured out aisle was not for him ) Happy New 2025 LOVE the pic of you & hubby ~

I got seats on a delta flight on row 13 and when I was double checking my flight later it said row 14. I called and they said they changed it to 14 and I could change it back if I wanted? As long as it was the little more expensive seats and not over the wing I was ok. Not sure if there is a seat 13 or not??
